Mayor Garrett’s Press Conference

In April, 2023, Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett sent a letter to the Hamden Legislative Council with a resolution requesting approval of plans for the Hamden Homicide Memorial Botanical Garden of Healing at Eli Whitney Park.  This plot of land, at 1111 Whitney Avenue near the Reservoir, had been deeded to the Town by Eli Whitney.  On May 5, Legislative Council members unanimously approved the plan.

On October 16, 2023, the Mayor held a press conference at the site to make the plans public.
